The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened its portal for the recruitment of ad-hoc staff for the 2025 general elections in Anambra State. This is an opportunity for eligible Nigerians to take part in the electoral process by applying for temporary positions that help run the elections smoothly. The recruitment is handled through the INECPRES portal, which stands for INEC Portal for Recruitment of Election Staff.

  • Supervisory Presiding Officer (SPO)

Who Can Apply?

New Applicants:

You can apply if you have never worked with INEC as an ad-hoc staff and you meet the qualifications for any of the available positions.

Returning Applicants:

If you have an existing profile with INEC from 2019 till date, you only need to log in and update your preferred ad-hoc position.

Before you begin the registration process, visit the eligibility section on the portal to confirm you are qualified for the position you want.

Application Requirements

Make sure you have these ready before starting your application:

  • A valid email address
  • A working mobile phone number
  • A personal bank account number
  • A recent passport photo with a white background (not more than 5MB)
  • Contact details (email and phone) of two referees
  • A valid Staff ID or Student ID number
  • NYSC Call-Up Number (for ex-corps members from 2018 and current corps members of 2022)
  • Your highest qualification document in PDF format
  • A valid means of identification in .jpg or .jpeg format

How to Apply for INEC Ad-Hoc Staff 2025

  • Check Eligibility
    Go through the requirements for each position to find the one that suits your qualifications.
  • Register on the Portal
    Click on “Register” and follow the instructions to create your profile.
  • Create Your Password
    After you create a password, the system logs you in automatically. You will then see the application form.
  • Fill Out the Application Form
    The form has three parts: Personal Information, Contact Information, and Bank Details.
    Use your correct name as it appears on your BVN. You cannot edit your form after submission.
  • Upload Your Passport Photo
    Make sure it is recent and has a white background.
  • Provide Referee Information
    Enter the email and phone numbers of two referees who can confirm your identity and background.
  • Attest to the Information
    Tick the attestation box to confirm that the information you provided is correct. INEC will verify your details.
  • Submit the Application
    After reviewing all information, submit your form.
  • Print Acknowledgement Slip
    This slip is important and will be needed during the final verification process.

Eligibility Requirements by Position

Here’s a breakdown of who can apply for each position:

Supervisory Presiding Officer (SPO):

Must be a public or civil servant on Grade Level 10 to 14, or

An INEC staff not already assigned other duties.

Registration Area Center (RAC) Manager:

Must be a Head of School, or

A staff (GL 07 and above) of the school or public building hosting the RAC.

Presiding Officer (PO) / Assistant Presiding Officer (APO):

Must be a serving corps member, or

A penultimate student in a federal or state tertiary institution with IT skills, or A permanent MDA staff with OND or GL 07 to 10, or An INEC staff on GL 07 or 08, or A former corps member from 2022 to 2025.

Registration Area Technical Support (RATECH):

Must have an IT background.

Must be an INEC ICT staff (State or HQ) not engaged in other duties.

Must not belong to a political party or support any candidate.

Must live in the state selected (except RATECH applicants).
