BIS Grant which stand for Business Idea Startup is empowerment initiated by the United Nation Africa to help empower 5,000 entrepreneurs on over 54 member countries.

SPBO is excited to announce to the public that BIS Grant 2022 has kicked-started and interested applicants are encouraged to apply for the programme.

The United Nations for Africa will be granted a whopping $25,000 to entrepreneurs with innovative business ideas, excellent startups and growing businesses. This means if you already have an existing business with a good excellent business idea, you are not exempted to apply.

Also, if you do not currently have any business doing, or have not opened any business anywhere but you have an idea of a business startup, the business you think can pave the way and impact the community at large, you can utilize this opportunity and apply for the BIS Grant 2022 application.

If you are among the 54 member countries of the United Nations you are eligible to apply for the BIS Grant 2022. You may not be able to apply if your country is not listed under the 54 member country of the United Nations.

Applications will be collected and out of it, 5,000 participants would be selected to receive a grant of $25,000 in cash and $10,000 for training. It is important to know that only those selected will be granted this cash and you should not pay money to anyone promising you that your name will be included in the list.

The BIS Grant 2022 is based on merit and only applicants with the best business ideas will be selected for the grant disbursement. You must also be at least 16 and 65 years at the time of filling the application and you must possess a valid national means of identification to be eligible to apply for the BIS Grant.

The Business idea Startup is initiated to empower Africans to survive in a daunting economy by equipping them with training, mentorship and financial capital.

The application process is categorized into three stages as outlined below:

Application Stage

The application stage is the first stage of the programme, applicants will be required to fill an online application form, after which you will receive a positive or negative reply from the assessment team regarding your application submission.

Interview Stage

This stage is for those who receive a positive reply from the assessment team, you will undergo a virtual interview with the United Nations Assessment Team. This time will be disclosed to you via your email address.

Verification Stage

The verification stage is the stage where applicants will be screened based on the identifications they have provided during the point of registering for the online BIS grant 2022, all your documents must be verified before any disbursement can be initiated to your account.

Make sure you and your team is equipped with the exquisite foundation and knowledge for the business idea submitted. Explain why you and your team are best equipped to execute the business idea, startup or growing business.
3. Financials: In the course of filling your application, explain how the BIS Grant will help you grow your business idea, startup or growing business in a clear and distinctive measure.
4. Broad Impact: This is very important, make sure you explain how the Grant funds will be beneficial to your community at large not just your business.

Who is Eligible to Apply for the BIS Grant 2022?

Your age must fall between 16 and 65 years as at the time of filling the application

Citizenship: You must be a citizen from any of the United Nations Africa country

Education: You must have at least completed high school or secondary school as the case may be.

Gadget: Applicant must have a gadget device to be able to join the online virtual interview when slated.

How to Apply for the BIS Grant 2022

Make sure all application is submitted online and the official website of the United Nations.

Also, you will have the option to choose between “Inceptor” and “Custodian”. The Inceptor cadre describes someone who has an idea, objective and plan but is yet to initiate the business idea while a Custodian is someone who already owns and manages a business either as a startup or a growing business.
